“Calli”, seems to be a popular name with CraigsList scammers lately. In the latest emails “Calli” is trying to trick me into entering my credit card info on a fake verification site called ConfirmDates.com. ConfirmDates has nothing to do with dates but everything to do with fraudulently billing your credit card to online porno sites. Any emails you receive as a result of responding to personal ads on CraigsList should be read with caution, because most are scams in one form or another.
ConfirmDates.com is designed to drain your credit card with over $100 of charges (listed below) to “verify you are real”, not a sexual offender and over 18 years of age. The whole thing is an elaborate scam, you have been warned.
